What is a sectional home?
Sectional home, mobile home, manufactured home, singlewide, doublewide, and even "trailer", are all terms used to refer to a home built on a permanent chassis and designed to be used as a dwelling with our without a permanent foundation. These homes must be built in compliance with the construction and safety standards as set forth by the US Department of Housing and Urban development (HUD).
HUD's constructions and safety standards require that all manufactured homes meet very stringent requirements, including
- built in one to three sections in a protected building facility, transported to the building site on a permanent chassis (usually a steel frame), and installed either with or without a permanent foundation
- strict HUD code restrictions for design, construction, durability, strength, fire resistance, transportability, energy efficiency, and quality
- meets standards for heating, plumbing, and electrical systems performance
- inspected by third-party inspectors
D&W Homes began in 1977 as one mobile home sales center in Jackson, Ohio. We've been selling these HUD homes since we began, and have expanded to have four Model Home Center locations that all sell this product.
Our sectional homes aren't like the doublewides of long ago. They come with 2x6 walls, 5/12 pitch roofs, open layouts and great appliance packagess. You'll have to visit one of our sales centers to truly appreciate today's manufactured homes.
Our sectional homes, like our customers, come in all shapes and sizes, from used singlewides, to 32x80 doublewides, we have them all!
